‘Self-care’ is a buzzword in the conscious living circle. It’s a reminder that after we leave the nest our health and happiness is all on us. But, what does self-care look like? How do you know when you’re doing it? How do you know you’re doing it right? Let me tell you a little secret: Self-care seems like it’s HARD work, yet it doesn’t have to be.
We hear the terms: witch’s familiar, magical familiar, spiritual familiar, which all relate to an animal who you are esoterically connected to, but what we need to understand is that your magical familiar, or whatever term you identify with, is an actual living animal.
October, how I love thee! It’s not just the boots I get to wear, or the Halloween decorations I get to put or and wear. It’s that my job, my passion gets so much easier. The witches say that in this season the veil between the worlds gets thinner, meaning psychic energies are stronger and spirit communication is easier.
I’m writing this article inside out this time, products first, then the problem and the spell. Here’s why. We don’t have time these days to wait to get to the point. It’s not feeling so safe out there and we need answers today.
These planetary shenanigans are getting to me. We are dealing with 7 planets in retrograde; Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Chiron. At first glance this is worthy of a minor freak out and a loose plan to take a month-long sabbatical, but before you book your flight to Tahiti, let’s take a look at what a retrograde really means.
I read a random question on social media, “Are Pagans addicted to magic?” I found that a fascinating question because it assumes so many things. It assumes that all magical practitioners are pagan, and all pagans practice magic. The comments went to referencing witchcraft and magic and paganism all as the same thing.
Before you start looking for who has taken a bite out of your empowerment, or who you may have given away your power to, you may want to make sure you are not the source of your own power drain.
It just hasn’t been fun lately. At times rewarding, profound, intense, life changing, but not fun. Even writing this Live the Magic article started out as seriousness. The theme this month is feeling overwhelmed and that is exactly how I am feeling right now.
It’s about the money and it’s not about the money. Prosperity is more of an emotional state than a physical one. It’s a mental, emotional and magical shift that has physical results. I know this, because I did it and the world shifted around me to accommodate.
“If you were a really good witch/psychic/healer you would be rich by now.” Everyone who has heard that line raise your hand. Everyone who has thought that of themselves raise your other hand. Now that both of your hand are up, it’s a hold up and you’ have just been robbed – of a charmed life.
Is this another story of the American Dream come true? An idea, a small financial stake and lots of tenacity and you have the latest sensation? Yes and no. All of those factors are true, but what no one talks about is the other secret sauce that makes your business successful.
“We make our own happiness.”
“Happiness is created, not found.”
“Happiness comes from what we do.”
“Happiness is about enjoying the moment.”
I have shared all these meme’s on my social media. I have these posters in my office.
The minute you think that your house couldn’t use a cleansing is the exact moment it needs one. Energy that can sap your energy can creep up on you, a little at a time, until WHAMMO – you are in a calamity type of crisis.
Most likely, there is probably a witch next door. They may not be Goth, own a flowy pagan dress, or attend the local community ritual, yet they are witches. Gender doesn’t play into it, she may be a he. (S)he may not be pagan but the witch next door is powerful, centered and focused when needed.
When all else fails, go back to the basics and review where you may have gone awry. That has been my mantra since the first time I had to go back to square one and rebuild. Magic, identity, business, relationships, plans; it doesn’t matter the subject, I have crawled back to the original moment of passion and inspiration that started me on that particular path to rebuild what I broke.
