New moon in Capricorn January 5, 2019

A Solar eclipse in Leo throws a shadow on our plans. Even though a New moon in Capricorn is a powerful time to begin new projects, this eclipse may affect our confidence and ambition to a greater degree than we are comfortable with.

Even the most courageous ones will think twice before venturing forward. The best way to handle this is to do nothing, well almost nothing. Don’t make any big changes, start something new or go in a new direction. Instead, be reflective, finish up what is still hanging out there, and clean out some closets. Some of those closets may even be in your mind. Do you have left over hang ups or resentments tainting your happily ever after? Now would be a good time to let them go.

A perfect candle ritual for clearing and cutting is our Calamity Calmer Soothing spell. You can find it on coventryCREATIONS.com and in our January newsletter. Or, you can keep it simple and light a Spiritual Cleansing Blessed Herbal candle. Just before you go into meditation light your candle. Let your intention be one of clearing out old destructive thoughts and beliefs that keep popping up at the most inconvenient time. Like when you are just about to make a breakthrough in your career, relationship or in understanding. I personally had to deal with the monsters of failure. Even though they were all in my mind, they were still very effective in scaring me. Not even my safe place comforted me because, what I really want to do is challenge myself. If you have similar monsters in your head, this candle ritual is for you.

Let all those sabotaging thoughts go up in the flame of the candle, never to bother you again. Then start filling the space with positive statements that uplift and support you. Write them down so you can read them every day. After your ritual is complete, look for ways to demonstrate your new frame of mind. Put into practice the new you. It will prepare you for when it’s time to change or start something new. Namaste.
